About me

Illuminating the metropolis

I was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1961,  graduating from the University of Budapest in 1984.  After completing a masters degree I spent much of my early years travelling around Europe and America before
finally settling in England in 2006 where my cityscapes occupy a unique position in the UK art market.

Although my cityscapes depict specific and recognisable locations I focus on capturing the atmosphere of each scene.   By merging colours and blurring the reflected light in the rain-slicked streets, I am able to portray the fast-moving essence of my chosen subject in my own distinctive way.

I simply love painting and after more than 80 successful solo exhibitions throughout the UK I am proud that my works are highly regarded and instantly recognisable.

I have also exhibited internationally throughout my career and in 2004 was pleased to receive the ‘Genius Talent Prize’ in Budapest at an exhibition celebrating the entry of Hungary into the European Union.

Inspired by a thriving art scene on the Kent Coast I decided to make Folkestone my home from where I continue to support local artists by delivering masterclasses.

My latest works are more diverse, my passion is painting and I enjoy all genres, landscapes and more recently, as commissions for friends and former cityscape customers, loved pet dogs which all have their own wonderful stories.
